We have hired our first refugee lady to start sewing the Hope Tote! We spent a few hours the other day going over the instructions and we made our first bag together!
Her name is Sidra and she came to the US from Pakistan. Her husband was here for 2 years before she was able to come over with their children. They have 2 boys and a girl ages 9, 8 and 7. They left Pakistan because of religious persecution.
When Sidra lived in Pakistan, she was a seamstress and owned her own dress shop. She is very excited about being about to sew again. This job is perfect for her because she doesn't have to worry about transportation or finding after school care for her children.
The bags will be ready to purchase in about 2 weeks! Please consider purchasing one to help support Sidra and so we can hire more refugee women. There is a great need for them to work from home!
